Great African Civilisations Ethiopia: Issue 6 sets out to describe the importance and sophistication of the vast and long standing Aksumite Empire, just one of the many, great indigenous civilisations of Africa, said to have been among the top four pre-eminent civilisations of its time. The purpose is to counter the racist myth that '"nothing good ever comes out of Africa'" and to dismiss the still lingering notion of Africans as uncivilised.
